Had a new uPVC roof system installed at front and rear of our property and the final job looks great. We would highly recommended this family business for any roofing work required. Couple very small snags and they've confirmed they'll be out asap to sort them out."
"Had small repair needing done to the wall next to the gutter. Apex arranged an appointment next day and was able to fix on same day. Provided before and after photos of the problem and fix to make sure I was satisfied with the work. Great service. Would recommend."
"Very disappointed to be having to leave a negative review. Initially called Apex Roofing out because I was impressed with their good reviews. I had various problems with my roof, a leak on a single storey section and various slates off etc on the main higher roof. Scott Graham at Apex roofing said he would come and then did call to let me know he was going to be away in France longer than expected and put his date to come back a bit. He turned up as promised. As I had water coming in on the lower storey section he suggested starting with sorting that immediately and said he would quote for the main section when he came back a few days later to sort the leak. He came and then requested payment immediately, which we did pay £600 for. His remit was to sort the leak. He told me it was “all nice and watertight” and “any problems just give us a call as all our work is guaranteed”. He said he was short of time and would return to quote for the main section. A few weeks later I realised I had not heard from Scott. So I called and he said he was away on holiday but would come and do so on his return. Weeks turned into months and I called him again repeatedly – family emergency, holiday and various other excuses as to why he would be longer to come for the quote. Finally I put up a bad review and his son also called Scott Graham but sounds the same on the phone called and begged me to take it down and they would indeed come and quote as it had just slipped through the net. So I did and they came to quote – obviously did not want the work as quoted nearly 4x what it cost me to have the same job done. 6 months after the low roof repair was done I realised it still felt wet. I know it can take time to dry out so had been waiting for this, but by this point it was clear it was not drying out. It was checked with a damp meter and found to be 42% damp where acceptable levels are about 15% damp. I called Scott to report this issue and assumed he would be very responsive given all his promises. There is a whole “father” “son” thing that goes on. Any time there is an issue you are always speaking to the wrong one and the other one needs to deal with it. Without fail the “father” tells you he is too overworked and the “son” tells you his father is away on holiday. They never seem to discuss anything, because after chasing the “father” he knows nothing of the issue you raised with the “son”. The “father” always also seems to make excuses – this time he said that “damp meters cause lots of false issues” and “probably it needs new plasterboard”. He did say he would come back out and “check his work” but despite numerous phone calls and texts and the “son” saying he would get his father to call back or come out nothing has happened 3 months later. I did give them the option of refunding my money or repairing it, but now I seem to be left with no alternatives other than legal action to recoup my costs. From the reviews posted since I engaged Apex Roofing it seems the company is slipping and I hope this review along with the others encourages potential customers to think twice before taking them on."
