Listings

Listings are curated from public business information — name, location, rating, reviews. All of it is already public on the businesses' own websites and on Google.

If you'd like your listing removed, use the removal form. Actioned within 7 days, no questions asked.

If you fill in a form

When you submit Get Listed, Claim a Listing, Report a Listing Issue, Removal Request, or Contact, we keep what you typed (name, email, phone, message). It's used only to reply to you or action your request — we don't sell it or share it with advertisers. We only send marketing if you've ticked the box on Get Listed or Claim asking to hear from Get A Trades Website and WUD Digital about websites, SEO and automation, and you can tell us to stop at any time.

Stored in Supabase (EU-hosted) for up to 24 months, then auto-deleted.

To keep spam bots out, the Get Listed, Claim and Report forms use Cloudflare Turnstile. It checks your browser behind the scenes instead of making you solve a puzzle. It isn't used for advertising and doesn't set a tracking cookie.

Messaging a business

Some listings have a Send a message button. When you use it, your name, email, phone (if you give one) and message are emailed straight to that business through our email provider, Resend, so they can reply to you directly.

We don't save your message. It isn't stored in our database. Resend keeps a copy of the email for 30 days to handle delivery, then deletes it automatically. Once it's delivered, the business looks after your details under their own privacy terms.

The exception is our own businesses, Get A Trades Website and WUD Digital, on the For tradespeople page. Messages to them come to our inbox, and we keep them for as long as we need to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows.

For businesses: the button is only switched on if you ask for it, for example when you claim your listing. It's free, we take no commission, and your email address is never shown on the site. Customers only see the form. We keep a monthly count of how many messages you've had, a number with nothing about the customer or the job, and only email it to you if you ask for a monthly summary. To switch it off, use the contact form.

Cookies

If you accept on the banner, we load Google Analytics 4 for anonymous visit counts. That's the only thing that sets a cookie. If you decline, no Google Analytics cookies are set.

We also keep two anonymous, cookieless measures that store nothing on your device and can't identify you — so, like Cloudflare's privacy-friendly analytics, they run without a cookie: overall visit counts (Cloudflare Web Analytics), and a tally of how many people tapped a listing's call or website button (so we can show businesses the interest they're getting). No personal data, no IP stored. Both respect your browser's "Do Not Track" setting.

No ads, no Facebook Pixel, no remarketing, no cross-site trackers. To change your mind about Google Analytics, clear site data for topscottrades.co.uk and the banner reappears.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Use the contact form — usual reply within 2 working days. If you think we've mishandled your data and we can't sort it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
