How to use this guide

Check the claim, not just the badge

A logo on a website or van may indicate legal registration, assessed competence, paid membership—or simply that a business once downloaded an image. This resource explains those differences before you search the relevant organisation’s own records.

Use it when comparing firms or checking a quotation. Start with the type of work being done, identify which registration or certification is relevant, then confirm that the named person or business currently appears in the official directory.
