"Unfortunately we would absolutely not recommend Mark to do your floors. Ours have been left completely unfinished. He advised he would come back to finish things off - we left all our furniture out of the room and house in chaos waiting for him to return, which he never did and stopped responding to messages as well. He filled in our gaps in the flooring with rubber strips which does not work as it comes out as soon as a hoover is run over it. There were large gaps left in the flooring he said he would repair, and the corners and underneath the radiators were left unfinished. I’m not sure he actually knows what he is doing unfortunately. We felt really gutted about the money we’d spent on this. Avoid."
"I would not recommend using this person. The job was left unfinished, with all the corners left undone and not properly sanded. I contacted him numerous times to get the work completed, and each time I was told he would come on a certain day or later the same day, but he repeatedly failed to turn up. The mess left behind from the sanding was unacceptable. Every wall in the flat was covered in a thick layer of dust, and I had to pay someone else to come in and clean the entire property. The flooring itself did not turn out anything like what we discussed. Before the work started, the floor had a lovely dark colour with a smooth finish, but the final result was very disappointing. The colour and finish are poor, the surface feels rough to walk on, and there are visible water marks. I was also surprised that he was unsure what type of wood the flooring was, as I would expect someone specialising in floor sanding to have a good understanding of different wood types. Despite taking payment, the job was not completed to an acceptable standard. I am now having to pay additional money to get another professional to finish and correct the work. I would strongly advise avoiding this person and choosing someone who is experienced, reliable, and takes pride in completing their work properly. I have attached pictures of what was done and one picture of how it had looked before."
"I hired North East Sanders to restore my wooden floors. Initially, I asked for a grey stain, but Mark advised that a natural finish would look better. I agreed at first, but on the day of the job, he offered the grey option again, which I accepted. When the job was complete Mark said he didn’t think the stain would work. The results were disappointing — the colour was patchy, uneven, and parts of the original floor were still showing through. Mark returned to try and fix it, but by then the floor had been sanded so many times that he mentioned there was a risk of going through it entirely. After the second attempt, the finish was still poor, with patches in most areas. The surface isn’t smooth or sealed properly — I can’t even run a mop over it without difficulty, and it lacks the shiny, protected look that varnish should provide. When I contacted Mark after allowing the floor to dry, he told me it needed time to “settle” and get some sunlight, and that I should reach out again after three months if it was still the same. I did exactly that, several times, but I’ve had no response. I have photographs of the work, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this company based on my experience."
